Fearless – Women’s Conference

Join us for our ‘Fearless’ day conference on Saturday 22nd September 2018.

Marianne Williamson said; “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

This is a day for us to step out of our fears and insecurities and into the life and calling God has given us. A day of discovery in the word of God about what it means to be “not afraid to shine”

Guest Speaker – Marvi Gunn

Our guest speaker this year is Marvi Gunn from Panama.

Marvi was born into a godly family in Tennessee. Her parents founded a church in their home and modelled service and godliness throughout her childhood.

Marvi attended Wheaton College where she majored in fine arts. There she met her husband Dan, a missionary kid from Panama, and they were married soon after graduation.

During Dan’s graduate studies in Southern California, Marvi worked at World Impact, an inner-city ministry in south central Los Angeles. There she and Dan had the privilege of being involved in a multi-cultural inner-city church and worked with the junior high youth. After graduate school the Gunn’s and their growing family lived in Dallas for 5 years while Dan held a job at American Airlines. During these years Marvi and Dan were very active in their church working with children, the missions committee and leading small groups. Marvi also found opportunities to use her artistic skills at the church.

Feeling God’s call to either move into inner city missions or move overseas as missionaries or with a position in international business, Dan and Marvi began exploring a variety of opportunities. God led them to Panama with Copa Airlines in 1999.

Marvi and Dan have raised their 5 children (ages 24, 23, 21, 18 and 14) in Panama. They have remained very involved in a variety of ministries over the years.

The move to Panama with 3 small children led Marvi to an emotional low point which resulted in God doing a wonderful healing work in her life. Major back surgery several years ago and a fight with cancer in 2016 have provided great opportunities for Marvi’s faith to be tested and strengthened.

Marvi is joyfully passionate about sharing Jesus with everyone she meets and is very active in leading women’s Bible studies and prayer groups and co- leading small groups with her husband.
